Services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Patients

Signature Healthcare employs a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter, credentialed through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) who is available to provide services at all Signature Healthcare locations. Additionally, we have access to in-person American Sign Language interpreters through the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.  You can request an ASL interpreter when scheduling your appointment, or by calling the Interpreter Services Department, Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 6 PM at 508-941-7658.

We use Deaf Talk, a wireless video relay conferencing system which offers real-time interpretation in American Sign Language.  Deaf Talk interpreting can be accessed throughout Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.

Signature Healthcare also utilizes TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).  These devices are available in our Emergency Department and at our Main Lobby Information Desk at Brockton Hospital, or on request for inpatient use throughout the hospital.

For more information, please call the Interpreter Services Department, Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 6 PM at 508-941-7658.
