Brockton Hospital was honored to host a visit from Congressman Stephen Lynch on Monday, June 14th. Mr. Lynch has represented the 9th Congressional District of

Massachusetts, which includes Brockton and a number of other southeastern Massachusetts towns, since 2001. The Congressman toured several parts of the hospital, including the Hospital Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab and Radiation Therapy units, as well as some patient floors. One important stop was the Women’s Imaging Center, where federal dollars made available through his support helped purchase state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment.
This was an important and timely visit, since there is much on the table in Washington which matters to Signature Healthcare in serving our community, including the intricacies of the recently-enacted federal health reform law as well as Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates. Congressman Lynch made clear by his questions and his comments that he fully understands the importance of federal funds in helping community hospitals like Brockton Hospital, and we are grateful for his time and his support. -- June 14, 2010
