National Student Nursing Association

National Student Nursing Association

Founded in 1952, the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) is a nonprofit organization for students enrolled in associate, baccalaureate, diploma, and generic graduate nursing programs. The association mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance. Each nursing school has its own NSNA organization. For more information, go to www.nsna.org.

BHSON's chapter of NSNA encourages all students to participate in monthly meetings and activities. The goal is to facilitate activities and programs that support not only our students but the surrounding communities. Activities have included:

Student delegates attending the annual National Convention

Facilitating food and supply drives for local agencies

Participated in disaster relief drives for various natural disasters

Volunteered to serve Thanksgiving dinner to under-served populations

Hosted holiday parties and Paint Nights

Made and sold cancer awareness bracelets to raise funds and awareness for Signature Healthcare's HOPE Fund

Participated in Signature Healthcare's Cancer Walk and Ring of Champions Dinner

And so much more. If you have an idea, suggestion, concern, or want to get involved, please contact your class representative or attend an NSNA meeting.
