The Proof of a High Quality, Safe Care Environment is In the National Recognition
In 2018, Signature Healthcare saw a continued accrual of awards from national, independent third-party sources recognizing quality and safety in both the hospital and physician group. Most recently, Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital was named a Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group for the first time - one of 36 Top Teaching Hospitals in the nation and one of only three hospitals in Massachusetts to be honored with this award. In addition to the Top Hospital Award, Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital has a stellar track record in patient safety, receiving Leapfrog’s highest “A” safety rating bi-annually since 2012.
Experts agree – Signature Healthcare has made consistent, sustained improvement in quality and safety over the past several years while maintaining a close connection to the community it serves. The organization is celebrating its continued success in many ways, including a campaign of innovative displays at all locations, and “thank-yous” for employees including fleece vests and sweet treats.
“I’m proud the talent and ideas of our employees are recognized on a national scale,” said Kim Hollon, CEO. “We’ve made significant changes in our culture, and the progress we’ve made has been tremendous. We are recognized nationally by well respected, outside agencies for the work we do in patient and employee safety and quality. Our hospital and medical group have earned accolades putting us in the top two and a half percent of hospitals nationally for safety and the top 25% of medical groups nationally on a set of clinical quality and patient experience measures, and we want the community to know it!”
In a quality healthcare environment, patients get care that is right for their illness, without delays, and are asked only to get the medical tests necessary to help with treatment. Quality healthcare is fair, with patients receiving personal, knowledgeable healthcare.
Additional awards include:
American Heart Association Heart Failure Bronze Award - Get With the Guidelines: A quality improvement program rewarding hospital teams for providing the most up-to-date, research-based care with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing hospital readmissions for heart failure patients.
