Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital again recognized as one of the top 4 safest hospitals in MA
Thursday, April 29, 2021
Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital is among the top four safest hospitals in the State, as recognized by The Leapfrog Group.
Today, the hospital was awarded its 18th consecutive safety ‘A’ grade from Leapfrog, an achievement reached by only four hospitals in Massachusetts and 39 hospitals nationwide.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety ‘A’ Grade is a national distinction, recognizing a hospital’s excellent performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care.
“Safety is our number one priority at Signature Healthcare and our staff works diligently each day to reach our safety goals,” said President and CEO Kim Hollon. “Our 18th safety ‘A’ grade from Leapfrog shows we strive each day to be one of the safest healthcare providers in the nation.”
“An ‘A’ safety grade is an elite designation that your community should be proud of,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “The past year has been extraordinarily difficult for hospitals, but Signature Healthcare shows us it is possible to keep a laser focus on patients and their safety, no matter what it takes.”
The distinction from Leapfrog aligns with Signature Healthcare’s history of safe and outstanding quality care. Brockton Hospital received the 2021 Women’s Choice Awards® for Best Comprehensive Breast Center and Best Mammogram Imaging Center. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts recognized the hospital with a Blue Distinction for safe, quality Maternity care. The hospital was also named a Top Teaching Hospital in 2020 for the fourth year in a row.
