Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital Once Again Recognized for Quality in Maternity Care
Wednesday, January 20, 2021
Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital was again recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts with a Blue Distinction® for safe, quality Maternity care.
The distinction, part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program, addresses persistent and widespread racial and ethnic disparities across maternal healthcare, primarily driven by socioeconomic status, geographic location and implicit provider bias.
Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital was recognized for ensuring better health of mothers, demonstrating expertise and commitment to quality care for vaginal and Cesarean section deliveries and indicating better overall patient satisfaction and a lower percentage of early elective deliveries.
“At Signature Healthcare we pride ourselves on delivering the safest quality of care with personal compassion,” said Kim Hollon, President and CEO of Signature Healthcare. “It is meaningful to be recognized for the care we provide to women and families and for giving babies a strong start to life.”
Blue Distinction Centers for Maternity Care address and combat key factors driving the United States’ maternal health crisis, such as preventable or treatable pregnancy-related conditions, high utilization of Caesarean sections and racial and ethnic disparities in maternal healthcare.
The distinction aligns with Signature Healthcare’s history of outstanding Maternity care. Brockton Hospital was most recently recognized nationally as a Best Maternity Care Hospital by “Newsweek.” To learn more about our organization’s record of safety and quality, visit our website, MySignatureCare.org.
