An Amazing Team in the CCU
Wednesday, February 7, 2018
I wanted to recognize the amazing team you have in the Critical Care Unit (CCU). My dad was admitted this summer with pneumonia and sepsis. He was in the CCU over five years ago and cared for by Dr. Sorour, so we were comforted when Dr. Sorour arrived once again to care for my father. Unfortunately, we did not have the outcome we had hoped for as my dad passed away at the end of June. While my family was overwhelmed with grief we could not help but be thankful for the wonderful care he received while in CCU. Everyone on that floor are clearly angels put on Earth. Dr. Sorour never gave up on my dad for one minute. He kept us informed and I considered him to be one of my dad's biggest cheerleaders. He left no stone unturned. The nurses, particularly Kathy D, became part of our family. Although the visits were tiring and not always cheerful, we were always greeted with friendly, compassionate faces. So as we continue to mourn the loss of my dad we will be forever grateful for the heroic efforts we saw in your CCU staff. I never thought I would say this but I actually miss visiting the CCU. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making a tough time so much easier to handle.
