Maternity care is top notch at Brockton Hospital
Tuesday, August 11, 2020
I had my first child during the Coronavirus pandemic, in April 2020 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. I had Dr. Waters and she was great. What I loved about Dr. Waters was that she always brought in an ultrasound machine to every appointment. It was so nice to be able to see my baby at each appointment, see her growing each time and see her heart beating. It was comforting and amazing.
The Maternity Department at the hospital was great. I loved my labor nurse. When I was pushing, everyone was cheering me on and I loved it. It got me through. The post-partum nurses were great too. Anything we needed, they would help. We liked the extra help from nurses before we were on our own as new parents. Lactation nurses sat with me each day for an hour, which was very helpful because I didn’t know what I was doing. They were available to call when we got home from the hospital as well, which I took advantage of.
I love the newborn photos the hospital provided as a keepsake for the family. Brockton Hospital staff takes the pictures and then prints and frames an 8 ½ x 11 for the family. They also give the other shots to the family on a CD. The girl who does it does a really nice job.
I’m glad the Brockton Hospital Maternity Department got the recognition of “Newsweek’s” 2020 list of Best Maternity Care Hospitals because it’s such a good hospital. We will go back to Brockton Hospital to have our future children. This one was special because when she grows up she’s never going to hear the end of it: “When you were born there was a pandemic in the world!”
