About your Stay

Your Care Team

Physicians specializing in the care of hospitalized patients are called Hospitalists. Your Hospitalist will serve as your “hospital physician” while you are a patient in the hospital. Your primary doctor and your Hospitalist can work closely together to make sure you get the best possible care during your stay. If you are a Signature Medical Group patient, your medical record from your hospital stay will be available to your primary care physician.

At Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital we understand that there are times when patients or their family members may have concerns during their hospital stay. While you are hospitalized, the Patient Advocate is available to function as a liaison between you and the hospital staff related to any concerns or complaints you may have. The Patient Advocate is available Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the exception of holidays.

A nurse Case Manager assists the patient, family, and healthcare team with developing a discharge plan that best meets the patients’ post discharge needs. The Case Manager monitors the patients’ progress daily and collaborates with the patients’ insurance company to coordinate aftercare services.

The most powerful thing you, your health care team, and your visitors can do to prevent infections is to clean their hands. Remember, everyone on your healthcare team is working to help you stay healthy while you are in the hospital. Feel free to speak up and ask what you can do to prevent infections and get better quickly.

Patient safety is our first priority at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Our goal is to ensure expert medical care in the safest environment possible. As a patient you play a vital role in making your visit with us safe by becoming an active, involved and informed member of your health care team. When you are an active partner in your care, you can help prevent errors.

Patient Amenities

Patient rooms are equipped with color television sets and your room television is on. Television service is provided free of charge to all patients, in addition to wireless internet access. All televisions are equipped with an on-demand patient information and education system that you control from the phone in your room. You physician may designate specific health education videos for you to watch which will be available on your room television through the system. Please take advantage of this system during your stay with us.

So that you can stay in touch with family and friends, telephones are provided in every patient room except those in the Critical Care Unit. All incoming calls are directly connected to your room. For the health and well being of our patients, incoming calls can not be received before 8am and after 10pm.
